This is our story.
We met in May in Chicago in 2004. He was working at a drumming bar, I came in with friends. We went out 4 nights later, fell in love on the spot, moved in together as soon as my lease was up, and got married the following July. We bought our first place, finally took an overdue honeymoon to Mexico, and very shortly got pregnant with our first son. It was a happy whirlwind of love.
The fairy tale took the usual curves, facing us with the challenges of life. Death of a parent. Other complications and traumas we didn't expect. We made it through. Together.
And recently, our second son was born, bringing a fresh wave of hope and connection, as well as stress and adjustment. We also just bought our first house, a place we hope to raise our boys and call home for many years. All of the change
